Husky Energy - Lloydminster

Located in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada, Husky Energy began start-up and production in 2006. The plant is designed to produce 130 million liters per year ASTM motor fuel grade ethanol from wheat and was the largest at that time in Saskatchewan. The plant also produces DDGS for animal feed.

Collocated with the HUSKY Oil Upgrader Facility, the plant is designed to take full advantage of the Upgrader’s excess low-pressure steam, waste heat from its cogeneration facility, and utilize manpower resources from the Upgrader. It is currently planned to add CO2 recovery from fermentation to further improve the plant's sustainability.

KATZEN provided to Husky the process design package, detail engineering and construction liaison, operator training and start-up services.
