Tarimsal Kimya Teknolojileri Sanayi ve Ticaret a.s.

Located in Bursa Province, Turkey, TARKIM was the first of its kind fuel ethanol plant in Turkey, starting production in 2004. The plant processes corn and wheat to optimize feedstock pricing and availability. KATZEN’s SSF system, low energy distillation system and process integration maximize heat recovery to achieve high efficiencies.

The original capacity was designed for 58,000 liters per day motor fuel grade ethanol, and a subsequent expansion design in 2006 provided by KATZEN raised production to 84,100 liters per day. The latest expansion, completed in 2019, has expanded this capacity to 110,000 liters per day. Distillers Dry Grain with Solubles (DDGS) coproduct is sold for animal feed, and carbon dioxide from fermentation is captured and supplied to a neighboring facility. The ethanol plant is certified by the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification).

KATZEN provided to Tarkim the process design, construction liaison, operator training, start-up services, and operation support services
