Biography

Charles Tereck joined KATZEN in 1994 as a chemical engineer. In 2003, Charles was promoted to Vice President and Treasurer. Over his career, he has performed all aspects of process engineering work including process simulation, flowsheet synthesis, equipment design, P&ID preparation, instrument specification, and economic analysis. This experience has been valuable primarily in the preparation of process design packages for facilities and manufacturers of motor fuel grade, industrial grade, and beverage grade ethanol products. At KATZEN, he has also been involved in a variety of projects such as SO2 recovery, bromine manufacture, and fine chemical pilot plant design. Charles has designed, managed, and commissioned KATZEN projects worldwide.

Prior to his employment at KATZEN, Charles worked in many capacities as an engineer for Ethyl Corporation. After graduate school, he worked for Union Carbide for 5 years, again utilizing his many skills as a chemical engineer, eventually becoming an engineering lead in the development and commercial production of ethylene-propylene rubber products. For the next 4 years, before joining KATZEN, Charles was employed at the Procter & Gamble Company. There, he was responsible for development, scale-up, and start-up of bar soap manufacturing processes.
