Biography

Tara Vigil joined KATZEN in 2002, as a chemical process engineer. Since that time, Tara has performed a variety of functions, including project development, project management, process design, construction liaison, commissioning and start-up, operations training, business development and marketing oversight. Tara was named President of KATZEN in 2018. As President, Tara is responsible for leadership and direction of KATZEN’s engineering, technology development and business development operations.

Throughout her career at KATZEN, Tara has specialized in on-site communication with plant management and training of operations staff, particularly in the areas of mashing, fermentation, distillation and dryhouse operations. She has participated in the design, management, commissioning, operator training, and start-up of process facilities all over the world, including in the United States, Canada, China, Uruguay, Paraguay, Nepal, France, Spain, Thailand, Austria, Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Tara routinely lectures and teaches in the industry and has authored the chapter, Distillation Practice, published in the 6th edition of the Alcohol Textbook.

Prior to her employment at KATZEN, Tara worked in a number of capacities for Heinz Frozen Foods at their Ore-Ida facility in Oregon, including as an industrial engineer and production supervisor.
