TARKIM, Istanbul, Turkey is nearing completion of their fuel grade ethanol plant in MKemalpasa-Bursa, Turkey. The plant is expected to start up in late fall of 2004. Technology and basic engineering design for the plant was provided by KATZEN. Once the plant is fully operational, it will process corn or wheat, and will produce valuable animal feed (Distillers Dried Grains Solubles). The owners will be increasing capacity by 50% this year. This is the first fuel ethanol plant in Turkey, which is a major grain producing country. TARKIM intends to build several more ethanol plants in the region.
