Alco Bio Fuel N.V.

Located in Ghent, Belgium, Alco Bio Fuel began start-up and production in 2008. The plant is designed to produce 150 million liters per year of European fuel grade ethanol. The plant also produces a valuable animal feed coproduct (DDGS).

Taking advantage of its location at an international grain terminal, the Alco ethanol plant is designed with the flexibility of processing a wide variety of feedstocks to produce a range of sustainable ethanol products and coproducts. Demonstrated feedstocks include wheat, corn and milo, among other grains and liquids. The ethanol plant is certified by the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification).

KATZEN provided to Alco Bio Fuel our process design package from milling through final product, engineering and construction liaison, and operator training and start-up services. KATZEN also continues to provide technical support, and this plant typically operates significantly above nameplate capacity.
